Wine Tasting & Art

This tour is a wonderful way to experience the Algarve’s wine culture in just a few hours. Visit two carefully selected wineries, each producing wines with distinct characteristics, and enjoy a relaxed and enjoyable introduction to the region’s vineyards.

Algarve wines are known for being smooth, approachable, and easy to drink. The red wines, in particular, are soft, with lower acidity and moderate alcohol levels, making them especially suited to the warm climate. This creates a tasting experience that is both pleasant and accessible, whether you are a wine enthusiast or simply curious to explore.

With your private driver and guide, you can sit back, relax, and fully enjoy each moment without any rush.

Your experience begins at a beautiful wine estate in the western Algarve. Surrounded by vineyards and open landscapes, this is the perfect setting to discover the region’s wines.

Here, you will taste three of the winery’s selected wines while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Many estates also feature artistic elements in their gardens and surroundings, creating a space where nature, wine, and creativity come together.

The tour continues to a second winery set in a more rural environment, with stunning views over rolling hills covered in vineyards. This stop offers a different perspective on Algarve wines, allowing you to explore a variety of styles and find those that best suit your taste.

For an enhanced experience, you may choose to include regional tapas, featuring Cured ham, Local cheeses, Chorizo and Bread and olive oil.

These traditional products pair beautifully with the wines and add another layer to the tasting.

This is a relaxed, half-day tour designed with comfort and flexibility in mind. If you wish, the experience can be extended to include a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, allowing you to continue enjoying the Algarve’s flavours at your own pace.

Did you know that...

the first vines in the Algarve were planted around 2000 BC, and that the region offers an excellent terroir for growing grapes?

Winemaking is a largely natural process that requires minimal human intervention, yet every winemaker leaves a personal mark through technique and tradition. In general, the process follows five key stages: harvesting, crushing and pressing, fermentation, clarification, and aging and bottling. While these steps form the foundation, subtle variations along the way are what make each wine unique.

Viticulture on the Iberian Peninsula dates back thousands of years. The Tartessians, an ancient civilization based in what is now Andalusia, are believed to have planted the first vines in the Algarve around 2000 BC. They were followed by the Phoenicians, who introduced new grape varieties and winemaking techniques, as well as the Greeks and later the Romans, all of whom helped shape the region's long wine tradition.

The Algarve was officially recognized as a demarcated wine region in 1980. For many years, however, vineyards were neglected, putting the genetic heritage of old grape varieties at risk. Today, renewed efforts are focused on preserving and protecting this rich winemaking legacy.
